New living trends for the top floor

Penthouses always have a very special flair. Large skylights flood the apartment with plenty of light and provide a view of the stars at night. Bedrooms and living areas are usually located on the top floor. But why not simply move the kitchen and bathroom to the most exclusive of all floors?

Nowhere else can open, spacious living be combined with a relaxed feel-good atmosphere as skillfully as in the attic. Sloping ceilings convey sophisticated architecture, while open roof beams create an exclusive and romantic effect. Oversized windows, such as those manufactured by Sunshine from Stadtlohn, provide light-flooded rooms with an open-air character.

Living rooms and bedrooms are usually placed under the pitched roof to make the most efficient use of the living space. But why shouldn’t all these advantages also apply to the kitchen and bathroom? Modern furniture and technology provide almost endless possibilities for variation, which means that sloping ceilings can also be used to excellent effect.

Unconventional living (t)rooms

If you want to design your living space in a refreshingly exclusive and individual way instead of following outdated trends, you should consider giving the kitchen and bathroom priority when converting the loft. After all, the sloping walls and large windows offer more than just visual benefits.

Moisture produced during cooking can be quickly and easily ventilated.

An open room concept offers enough space for comfortable cooking and cozy meals at a large table.

Freestanding kitchen units and storage space at body height have long since overtaken conventional kitchen units and hard-to-reach wall units. Thanks to modern kitchen technology, there are no limits to space planning.

And the bathroom can also be realized perfectly under sloping roof surfaces. As in the kitchen, air humidity can be dissipated directly via the sloping windows, ensuring an optimum indoor climate at all times. Whether bathtub or wet room: sophisticated furnishing concepts leave nothing to be desired when designing the wellness landscape. Bedrooms and living areas can also be accommodated on the more spacious floors.

OpenAir for bath and kitchen

Living spaces are always most attractive when they radiate a bright and friendly atmosphere. Large windows are therefore the highlight of any loft apartment. Sunshine Wintergarten GmbH is the right partner here.

Sliding windows with breathtaking dimensions of up to twelve meters wide and four meters high create an exclusive open-air atmosphere, allow daylight and fresh air into the top floor and provide maximum views to the outside.

Vertical or horizontal – sophisticated rail systems with optional motor ensure effortless opening. And where better to enjoy a glass of wine than in a bathtub with a view of the starry sky?
